Spray tanning can seem scary if you've never done it, but it's a quick, easy, and healthy way to get a gorgeous glow! Read below to find answers for what you're wondering about.

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY TAN?

Exfoliate 2 - 3 days before your appointment! This will prevent your tan from looking patchy. Scrubbing removes dead skin and prepares your skin for an even and long lasting tan. Avoid moisturising body washes the day of your appointment, because these leave a film on your skin. Make sure you have no deodorant, perfume, or make up on when you arrive. Wear loose, dark coloured clothing to your appointment too.

Extra committed to a flawless tan? Moisturising daily with good quality lotion leading up to your appointment (not the day of!) will give the tan the perfect canvas to work on. Tans work better and last longer on skin that's hydrated!

HOW LONG WILL MY TAN LAST?

Your tan should last 5 - 14 days depending on how you take care of it. Exfoliate 2 - 3 days before your appointment and ask for our pH balancing primer before you get sprayed. Moisturising your skin after every shower (starting the day after your appointment), and avoiding hot showers will make it last longer.

Ingredients to avoid:

Mineral oil in lotion
Sulfates in shower gels
Acids (BHA, AHA, salicylic, lactic) in skincare
Alcohol in shower gels

Your face will fade faster, especially if you use the above ingredients on it. We recommend using tanning serum drops on your face to keep it as tanned as your body.

WHAT'S THE APPOINTMENT LIKE?

Very quick! The spray tanning itself only takes about 5 minutes. Our appointments take place in a comfortable private room that's kept at a nice warm temperature. We recommend bringing a swimsuit/underwear that you want to tan in, but you're also welcome to tan nude (you don't want tan lines, we respect that!). We have disposable ones available too.

WHAT DO I DO AFTER I GET SPRAYED?

Rinse off 1 - 3 hours after your appointment, depending on how tan you want to be. The colour you are before you rinse off is not your tan, these are guide bronzers that will wash off! Shower in warm water for 45 seconds, or until the water runs clear. No scrubbing or soap! Gently pat yourself dry with a towel. If your skin looks streaky, you probably didn't rinse well enough. After you rinse, you won't look tan. Don't panic! The colour will develop over the next 8 hours. You can start taking normal showers the day after your appointment.
